Armentarius's plan isn't too bad if the fort is straight up impregnable due to construction and geography like if it's perched on a tall rock and its harbor has heavily defended chain booms blocking the entrance. A squad of gryphons and a small battery of trebuchets stationed there performing firebombings will make it an easy win.
Stirling Castle was held for 4 months by a garrison of only 30 men and the English had to build the fuckhueg Warwolf trebuchet to get them to surrender. Pic related Corfe castle in England that held up from a siege for 3 years against 200 enemies with just a garrison of just 40 servants and a lady throwing rocks since it was surrounded by steep slopes and the only way to get in is a small narrow bridge. We need more info on the fort Armentarius is so confident in, if it's just as good as Corfe castle I would vote for it.
Here's my write-in, how about a less economically harmful deal with the Tarrizans? Buy some of their ships in exchange for a big one-time shipment of silk. So we do not have to tank our economy as hard constantly making more for them in the future.
