With the Machine Spirit awakened the Onus Probandi’s next act was activating its thrusters to full throttle towards the three enemy ships. She was flanked by ten Tartarus class ships that were waiting for this exact moment to close the gap between their enemies.
The enemy ships did not take this standing and tried to retaliate with their own armaments. The sound energy weapons hitting the shields erupted through the Onus Probandi. This lasted a moment before there was the distinct sound of the systems shutting themselves down to prevent an overload.
As the Void Shields were gone, they were soon battered and shot with dozens of energy shots that scarred the hull. It did not falter however even as pieces of the hull started to crumble from the combined firepower of three enemy ships.
With all of their attention taken by the Onus Probandi the Tartarus ships were bare scratched and could fire their prow guns. Ten shots against a vessel whose shields were already down caused several pieces of its shell to fly apart and reveal systems that should not have been exposed to the void. The only thing that kept it alive was that it was a Cruiser, for anything else would have fallen from such firepower.
It did however mean that numerous systems, including whatever sorcery its guns employed, were almost completely disabled.
Realization must have hit the Xenos at this moment seeing that their fellow ship was crimpled. They began to turn in an attempt to escape. They were still able enough to land shots on the hulls of the Tartarus craft. The physics of the situation however meant that the Tartarus Destroyers and Onus Probandi were more to gain ground.
Another volley was let go from the Tartarus class ships which resulted in the permanent crimpiling of the first of three ships.
Thus the fate of this battle was decided, however the result of things were yet to be determined.
