You pause to think about what he's saying. If you had picked another topic, maybe he wouldn't have gotten this angry. You could have saved the confrontation for when you had Phascomon for backup. But if you went into this meeting without that warning, you BOTH might have said something worse. And you doubt he would actually have done anything dangerous to you.
"... Okay. I get it, you're worried he's going to do something. But think about it practically. He can't lay a finger on me in front of all his guys. And he knows that you'll be right there to take revenge. He's a jerk, but not THAT short sighted."
<span class="mu-s">"He's acting like a cornered animal. He could do anything."</span> He argues stubbornly.
"What do you want us to do, then?"
He shifts about uncomfortably, then shrugs.
<span class="mu-s">"I don't know. I don't want him to think he can get away with acting like that just because I'm not around. But if you think we NEED to keep up this connection..."</span>
"We do. If not for him, or his resources, then for Squid. I know you don't like her much either-"
<span class="mu-s">"She's too touchy. I don't dislike her though, she helps us a ton. Ugh, fine. I'll keep it together from now."</span>
"That's all I'm asking for. We can rant all we want about him in private, okay?"
He nods. The two of you sit in silence for a bit, before you materialize some food from your Digivice. You both enjoy a much needed dinner, and you feel the tension evaporating.

Wind finally comes back. Phascomon tries not to glare at him when he enters. Fortunately, he doesn't bring up your partner's attempted outburst. Instead, he goes straight to the projector and clicks on it, pulling up a powerful looking Digimon.
<span class="mu-s">"What's that?"</span>
"It's my offer. Marnie brought up earlier that we still owe you two a favor. Operation Augur, which led to you unlocking your Ultimate form, was mostly a success. But you were along as a helper, so it's not like you got a free ride. You worked too, and got your reward out of it. The way I see it, all of Squid's random aid has bridged the gap between everything else. I just have one thing to pitch."
He reveals several new slides, detailing a plan to infiltrate a building. There's a radar scan with a positive reading for Deckerdramon, the Digimon he told you about quite a while ago.
"What's this, then? Another mission to invite us on?"
You're a little sick of being given work in the guise of a reward. But luckily, he shakes his head.
"No. I don't need you two on board. Instead, I'm offering you the chance to set the date for it."
