You have to admit, he fits the image you were expecting for one of Silversmith's lackeys. He looks like he lives, breathes, and oozes slime. The clothes and jewelry he wears are clearly expensive, but the way he carries himself...he's definitely a man of the streets, the kind of guy who would stab you in a secluded alleyway and leave you to rot just because you happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Or maybe you're just applying a prejudiced view of him because of his associations...nah, he's definitely a living example of human garbage - you decide quite easily on that. It'll make what comes next easier.
"-And the latest shipment, I should hope they all arrived in working condition?" The man's voice echoes out.
"Y-Yessir. Well, uh, acquisitions actually had difficulty with-" The lackey's lackey responds, before being cut off.
"Funny. You told me 'yes', meaning they ALL should have arrived in WORKING condition. And yet you have an addition to that statement. Is it a YES, Garick? Or do you actually mean to say NO?" Stillwater asks the man condescendingly, looming over him in an intimidating fashion.
"I-I-I Suppose it would be, um, no, then, sir! I'm terribly sorry..." Garick bows profusely, a gesture that causes Stillwater to roll his eyes and scoff.
"What is the complication, then?"
"The, um, the two Gaoth captives...you see, they apparently woke up mid-transit, and Acquisitions didn't find everything on them - they, uhhh, managed to ingest some poisons somehow..." Garick hesitates to continue on, and Stillwater clicks his tongue in annoyance.
"Always so tricky, those Gaoth soldiers...their loyalty would be commendable if it wasn't so annoying to deal with. Suicide before dishonor! What a crock of shit. And a waste of two good slaves." Stillwater spits on the floor, wrinkling his nose. "Still, that's on Acquisitions for failing to search them properly. Amateurs...I'll be sure to dock their pay accordingly. Now begone, I have stock to inspect." He waves a hand carelessly.
"At once, sir!" Garick says, before scrambling off to a different part of the warehouse that you can't see.
There's a few odd workers moving here and about, but this exact spot is relatively free of anyone save for Stillwater. You seem to have caught him at a good time, and any reasonable response from the men under his command would be delayed...if they even notice at all. You huddle together with your friends to whisper a quick plan of action with one another.
>Spend the day stalking him until he goes home. Accost him at his personal sanctuary, where he's bound to be at his most vulnerable - and where you can rob the shit out of him afterwards.
>Try your hand at kidnapping him right here and now, stealthily. You can interrogate him elsewhere once you do.
>Stealth? Subterfuge? This is about sending a message. Accost him right now, and take down anyone that comes to assist him. You want people to know that scumbags like Stillwater have no place in Lume.
