Speaking of tapping out. Waxworm was overcome by his wounds - he's mewling on the ground, after the seizure and the fire. Butcher is right by him. Butcher, you can Tap Him In. The immortal gesture of help-me-out-here is slapping your hands on their hands.
See, Waxworm? He's not dead, but he's going to feel this in the morning.
You can get DOWNED ALLIES *back on their feet* with an action as well, which will get them going.
It doesn't take a roll, you just shake them a little and tell them to refocus. Tap them in.
Unfortunately, those same allies are going to start their turn immediately *but* with AP lost to the wounds. So we can see that Waxworm can rejoin us in the land of the conscious if someone gets him to his feet, but he'd be down 2 AP because he has 2 wounds. And then he'd take -2 to everything on account of the pain.
This - and in many other places - is where FOCUS shines. Because you can spend Focus to get +hit. So you can also see how you can easily spend it to blow right through human limits of pain, endurance and torture. If you get an adrenaline high going - knocking down foes, recovering Focus, spending it to keep going - you can bust heads till we run out of heads.
... and then your pain and problems will catch up to you. But that's FUTURE YOUS problem!
( Also a reminder that spending Focus doesn't deplete your actual Focus attribute, okay, you just have that amount of Focus to spend. Call them Focus Points if it helps )
... oh one last thing.
Some foes can tap in fallen friends of theirs. You'll know who.
And if you try to Tap In a downed ally *right* besides an active enemy, they might opt immediately to take a swing at you. People "protect" their reach against someone spending 50% of their turn getting someone else back on their feet. High-diving into a hostile formation *just* to get someone back up?
Yeah you can do it, Maskhero, but it's dangerous business. Same for you, if you stand guard over a downed gaggle of goons.
NOW TAKE A TURN!
