Lucian could only curse the world as he saw the terror that the Kroxigor was bringing upon these people. The weapon felt heavy within his hands for he needed to bring it out against someone he knew, a steed of someone who he trusted.
As the people gathered around the giant he knew that this situation was not the one for them to calm down the mighty beast. Too many targets, too many smells, too many foes that would make Bok know it was not safe. He was closer to beast than man, and one does not try to calm a dog in a grouping of people.
“EVERYONE BACK AWAY!” Lucian shouted as he advanced forward with the blade in his hands, “By the gods get back!”
The troops looked upon Lucian with confusion, though some had already started to comply with the Knight. When one began to back away the others began to back away as well. A cascade of men who were falling to fear as the Knight advanced towards the monster.
Already Lucian could see two men at the feet of the mighty monster. Such was not unexpected when dealing with mighty steeds who had easily trampled peasants when they broke from the reins of their masters. Yet would the villagers see it like that, or the monster that he most certainly also was.
What mattered as Lucian stood in front of the giant was the sheer might of the Kroxigor and the mighty roar that it carried. A bellow it gave as Lucian stood in front of it, so mighty that it shook Lucian’s flesh and organs.
He made a strike, lower left stomach where the scales seemed rather thin. His blade arm was clear and skilled as he drew just the tiniest hint of blood from the mighty monster.
A lucky hit was all he needed to get Bok’s complete attention.
Lucian ran. He ran as fast as he could towards the woods for Bok was quickly upon him for scoring such a blow. He could hear the beast huffing and roaring as anger was flowing through its blood.
And Lucian was without anything, running as fast as he could to the forest. Within seconds he pierced the canopy of the trees, quickly followed by the Kroxigor who was smart enough to know that its target was still there.
