>>6047472Also… you get the feeling that there might be something inside the Sword, some kind of soul or soul-like thing that helps manage this immense Magical power it possesses. Kinda like dad’s Masamune, though whatever it is, it hasn’t really made itself know to you. Not yet at least. Not even sure if such a spirit is self-aware, it very well could be “programmed” like the Promethean Chronicler that Zelos had mentioned.
Speaking of, and on the down side… you’re so invested in this that you lose sight of Hado a couple times, and find him at different places during this training, at one point just disappearing for a bit and coming back without you actually noticing. Sala’s not bothered by it, but if anything, she seems too focused on learning what all she can do with Sophis that she’s not really paying as much attention to what he’s doing as you’re trying to without drawing his suspicions.
Finally, the other you with Zelos and Chuu Lee arrive at an area you figure is like how dad described the afterlife’s check-in station, but significantly more elaborate, with multiple structures that raise up high, rows upon rows of spirits flowing forward, splitting off into separate buildings as they reach the main courtyard area. Given that you and Chuu Lee are here with Zelos, the attendants let you all pass with no issue, them being ogres in formal attire that… actually looks decently fashionable, a kinda futuristic take on business suits that give an impression of them being actually comfortable. You’re all brought to meet a much larger ogre, one in a mixture of judges’ robes and business attire, with a large, important-looking cap atop his head. You notice him actually doing some… accounting work? Yeah, accounting work with one hand, writing in a ledger with another. A few other ogres head by you moving around carts full of… money, of some sort, though they give wide berth for Zelos.
“I see you’re hard at work as ever, King Yanlou.” the avian Archon greets.
That gets him to stop, and immediately he looks down at you from his ivory desk. “Great Lord Zelos! Ah, what… what a surprise…!” he states nervously. Noticing Chuu Lee, with you all, there’s a bead of sweat that rolls down his face as he forces a smile. “Is… this, ah, about Great Lady Yao…?”
“In a sense.” Zelos answers. “But not specifically. I am here to requisition a Day Pass for a departed soul. One of particular skill, strength, cunning, and… willingness to think and act outside the box, should we say.” Floating upwards, he adds, “A minimum of three options should suffice, mattering not if they are Above or Below, or even… Deep Below.”
