There was a sense of horror that TalOS felt when he looked upon Ahriman. The realization of what was happening to these nephews of his and the fear they must always experience. If he was to most closely relate the idea of it, TalOS would see this Flesh Change as a warp bound disease that was struck upon the children of the fifteenth son.
Seeing as it was a Warp based disease TalOS reached over and pulled the pendant from his neck. Malcador focused upon the item as TalOS kneeled down to Ahriman’s height and presented him the pendant.
“What I am to give you is a material known as Blackstone. It is Anathema to the Warp and all the pains which come from it.” TalOS said as he wrapped it around Ahriman’s neck, “It will protect you from the Flesh Change for however long you wear it. Whatever you do, do not remove it unless we tell you the Flesh Change is cured.”
“It… hurts to look at.” The Psyker admitted as he studied the item for a moment, “But… can you give it to my brother? Could it stop the progression of the disease?”
The Primarch shook his head at such kind words, “I am afraid that if we placed this upon him the issue will only be worse. He is of two worlds now, it will kill him.”
Slowly and with great sorrow Ahriman reached over and accepted the amulet. He looked upon it closely before placing it around his neck. TalOS could see him shiver with pain before a weight was taken off his broad shoulders. The two of them looked at one another as Ahriman surely realized the truth of the matter.
“You must sleep like all things. Even Machine Spirits require rest to prevent insanity from clouding their circuits.”
“I… I thank you.” Ahriman said as he soon glided through the archway as a tired old man.
A rhythmic tap of a staff hit the ground to snare the attention of TalOS away from the walkway that Ahriman disappeared before. Malcador looked upon TalOS with solemn eyes as he was now privy to exactly what TalOS was hearing.
“I heard from Xana that they are approaching a final result.” The Sigillite announced as he placed weight upon his staff, “You will not suffer much longer.”
“Thank you for informing me of that. It helps the mind.” TalOS said as he was forced to listen to the laughter of a long distant enemy to whom he once waged war against.
