The last of the defenses, a series of artillery systems on the moon or orbiting the planet, were destroyed with a series of precision laser shots from the Blackstone Fortress. The fears of debris was easily defeated as any scrap which laid in the atmosphere was taken out through precision fire of the Blackstone Fortress’s guns.
As this was a settled world that could sustain the life of man, it was ruled that this planet was within the first percentile of acceptable planets. According to the same analysis this meant that bombardment was not an acceptable method of destruction for the planet below. There was plenty of exploitation that needed to be done and so war designs were made.
With a series of ships in position the drop pods were released upon open fields that were outside the city defense systems that would have held some resistance to the invasion. Such was standard combat formation as Lucius did not need any air to surface support now that touchdown was made. A series of long marches were made that arrived at many of the major cities, including the capital of the world.
The siege officially began when the teleportation beacons were turned on.
