Sumire and Wasabi release their own grips over his teammates, and allow them to slink out with their proverbial tails between their legs.
“... weak in body and in spirit,” you mutter, before turning to your teammates. “What say we eat outside this time? Seems a bit busy today.”
“I’m game,” Wasabi-kiun shrugs.
“It’s a nice day,” Sumire-kun agrees. “It’ll be like a picnic.”
“Hey!” the tomboy from Sunagakure interrupts, drawing your attention. “Let’s at least do the thing properly?”
“Shinki,” the boy seems to take his teammate’s meaning. “My father is the Fourth Kazekage, Gaara-sama. I look forward to seeing you during the exams, Boruto-kun. Shiki-kun.”
So he already knew who you were.
“Araya,” the masked boy introduces himself simply. “My family isn’t noteworthy.”
“And I’m Kōshū,” the girl greets you with a slight grin, revealing familiar sharp teeth. “My parents are the current Mizukage and his wife, Temari of the Kazekage clan. It’s a long story.”
“I wouldn’t mind hearing it some other time,” you shrug. “You already know, but I’m Uzumaki Shiki, on exchange from Amegakure.”
There are some mutters among the other genin. As the introductions continue one genin from Kirigakure – one of a set of triplets – pulls out a small card and sets it on the table for the others from his village to see, prompting shocked gasps and hushed whispers.
“Nagao Sumire,” Sumirin inclines her head politely. “Assigned to Konoha’s Team 15.”
“Izuno Wasabi,” Wasabi takes her turn. “From a small clan, you’ve probably never heard of it.”
“The Izuno clan are said to be protected by a cat deity,” Shinki mutters, as if recalling a briefing. “Primarily use hiden-type nintaijutsu.”
There’s a long pause.
“... okay, maybe you have heard of it. Am I supposed to be impressed?”
"Be impressed or not. It's really none of my business."
