You thought Hanno wasn’t so bad, but you were lied to! Or at least tricked! This is mean and backhanded no matter how you slice it. You have to confront him for his deceiving ways, give him one last chance for him to explain himself — because you don’t live in a cheap drama that loves misunderstandings. No, you live in a world where you can get upset without looking at the entire picture, and may or may not change your disposition based on the evidence! And now it’s time to collect some clues for the jury.
You walk back with heavy steps and a frowning face to boot. It’s time to complain!
“Dude, I just learned what your powers are, and this is way uncool. You were trying to trick me!” You feel bamboozled. Dempsey raises an eyebrow, it is all in Hanno’s hands to explain.
“Huh~? What are you talking about?” Hanno is flabbergasted.
“Don’t play dumb. I know all about your sneaky question ability, you information mosquito! But you’re never going to suck anything out of me.” You adjust your glasses. Dempsey finds your petty insults of suspicious quality...
“Haha, information mosquito? What a way to put it. My buddies are going to love that one. I’ll be buzzing around their ears from now on.” Hanno has a good laugh. “But you’re mistaken, I’m a lousy schemer — and a worse liar.”
“Okay then, ‘Hanno’, if that’s your real name…” You saw his ID card, why are you saying this? Maybe it’s counterfeited… Yeah, that’s a good excuse. “Why did you hide it then, hmm?”
“I wasn’t trying to, sorry. I would’ve told you if you asked me, but we never got to it. Bzzt.” Hanno shakes his head.
“A flimsy excuse, little chap. Do better.” Rolling Thunder Dempsey doesn’t buy it.
“As far as I saw it, we both were aware of each other’s entity, and neither brought it up. I wasn’t going to pry while he was relaxing. Nobody wants to be bothered with work during their sacred break, only the other way around.” Hanno continues. “I thought we were comfortable sharing the same ground, not knowing each other’s powers.”
“Fair point, but I don’t get the distinct advantage of keeping mine a secret like yours.” You bring up.
“I wasn’t aware of that fact until now, haha~.” Hanno scratches the side of his forehead. “May I ask for an opportunity to compensate you for the trouble? Should I tell you what I learned? Tell you more about myself?”
“Whatever I ask will be reflected to you though.” You add.
“If you phrase it as a question that is. It’s not difficult to refrain from doing it, just a little taxing on the mind. But if you’re tired, I can see why you don’t want to engage with me right now.” Hanno explains his power’s perk. “May I offer you to do this conversation on a different occasion?”
“Gaining time to prepare an escape? How cowardly, little weasel.” Dempsey sees through the muscle man’s supposed intentions.
