>>5338382Something I would say about the whole of cyberpunk is that it is already dated, really almost retrofuture of the 80s-90s idea of dystopia, Syd Mead aesthetics still amazing for his time, but he is dead etc. Even William Gibson latest novels with exoskeletons and nanoassemblers lol can feel a bit dated. I read an interesting article recently that explained how the entire concept of the internet is it is actually a technology of the past. A technology of inscription - really the same as chiselling a rock tablet - a technology of archives, recording the past, sometimes very recent but still what has already just transpired. Paradoxically the internet as technology is not the future, it is barely even the present, which is why people fight so often over the representation, interpretation and memory of what has already happened.
