>>5774855>>5774857>>5774861>>5774891"Go-Fish." You state in a matter-of-fact sort of way. The cowboy just kind of... stares.
"Go-Fish? What are you, twelve?" He hangs his head down and sighs, his breathing sounding almost robotic with his respirator. "Whatever." You could swear he was muttering something about taking you too seriously, but you can't really tell.
You take a seat and take out your SLICK DECK OF CARDS. Just as you're about to deal the cards, however, the BARTENDER steps in.
"Let me do that. The last thing I need is you two fighting over if you dealt fairly." He takes the deck from you and deals you both FOUR (4) CARDS. You stare your opponent in the eyes... well, I mean, you would, but that visor is very opaque. You hope you're staring at him in the eyes.
TUTORIAL
As an entire game of Go-Fish is not quite practical in a quest based scenario, I've devised a "simpler" roll based game.
You have FOUR (4) CARDS, of which, you choose one. Then, you will roll a 1d100 to see if either you or your opponent win a full BOOK. The best of the first three (3) rolls will be selected. Once a BOOK has been won, the original card in your deck will be replaced with another. You win by winning THREE (3) BOOKS before your opponent does.
Ranks will determine what roll you need to succeed, and suits will help/hinder you with +/- modifiers.
Here are the required rolls for each rank:
2 - >10
3 - >20
4 - >30
5 - >35
6 - >40
7 - >45
8 - >50
9 - >55
10 - >60
J - >70
Q - >80
K - >90
A - >95
Here are the modifiers for each suit:
CLUBS -20
DIAMONDS -20
HEARTS +10
SPADES +20
>tl;dr: Select a card and roll a 1d100 (+/- any modifiers).>Example: ACE OF SPADES, 1d100+20>Result: 70+20=90, 90<95, so the roll fails.You have:
TWO OF HEARTS
THREE OF SPADES
JACK OF CLUBS
QUEEN OF HEARTS
Which card will you ask the cowboy for?
