“We’ve got movement in that wreckage.” You broadcast to the others, “Casval, lets swing around the side and check it out.”
“Think it’s an ambush?” Casval asks, light flaring from his mobile suit’s thruster backpack as he pulls off and away to flank, “I’ll take point, lets go!”
You’re right behind him, gyros spinning your pod as the simulator adjusts for your new course off to the side of the destroyed battleship, the wreckage growing rapidly in size as you really open up on the throttle - You aren’t swinging too far out, that would bring you into the wider battle, but it’s still going to delay your arrival compared to a head on attack.
Vivima laughs over comms, the connection crackling and weak but her voice filled with predatory glee. Her purple Bugu blasts forward directly toward the wreckage, shotgun in hand, “This is where the fun begins!”
“Vivima, wait up!” Your sister cries out, lagging a ways behind the bloodthirsty Zabi girl, machine gun gripped in both hands of her mobile suit as it rockets along across the void.
Half a minute of hard burn, which the simulator really just can’t mimic, and you’re in position, verniers straining to slow you as you sweep the rifle across the debris field formed by the destroyed feddie battleship. Zooming in with your monocle you get a great view of a trio of Waffs in federation colors clinging to the dark side of the burnt out bridge, and a few… worker balls? They have cannons mounted on their tops, and it's a little comical looking but those guns are probably very nasty if they land a hit.
Vivima and Artesia’s Bugus are already among the wreckage, blazing ahead directly toward the ambush. They’ll be right in the thick of them in a few seconds.
You open a line to Casval, “I see them. Three Waffs and a couple of balls. Machine guns and cannons only.”
“We’ve got them,” Casval replies a moment later, his own anti-ship rifle leveled toward the cluster of hidden enemies, both hands of his Bugu steadying the giant gun, “Let's take them all!”
The mono-eye sensor of his suit looks toward you, flashing red, and then back toward the wreckage, and he’s off like a comet hurtling toward the wreckage, rifle extended before him like a lance of the knights of old.
>Your brother is right, they’re exposed from this angle. Close for easier hits and open fire, try to take as many as you can even if it risks moving into close combat. Attack, attack, attack!
>”Go on ahead, I’ve got a present for them right now.” Try to tag their leader. They’ll scatter as soon as you fire, but if you land the hit it should sow chaos for the others to exploit.
>”Wait, they’ve got ships moving, there might be more to this!” It looks like a pair of Salamis-class have broken from the enemy battle line; they look like they might be vectoring to intercept your path to the distant carrier, but it isn’t clear. Slow down and figure it out.
