You push past the annoying voice screeching in your head to give a rough explanation of what happened. For a moment, you're worried about if you should say anything about your vision-
[UNSTABLE] Who fucking cares? You're going to anger that thing anyways. You explain EVERYTHING. Including the vision. If that thing gets pissed, good! Serves it RIGHT!
Oddly enough, Maruyama seems to take the information in strive. "Huh. Of course there would be a nutcase involved in this. Made too little sense to be just a fire." Kiara is damn near vibrating with joy when she hears about the vision. "THERE'S AN ANOMALY HERE?!" You really do want to check the other places but she is mere moments away from running to find it.
Best to divert her attention. "Yeah. Something weird is happening here and I don't like it. Not to mention all of the weird shit I keep hearing about the dude who hired us." You snap your fingers. "What did you two find in your rooms?"
"An affair." Maruyama states bluntly. "To cut a long story short, I found out about this 'Vanessa' type who went up there. New actress. Got the attention of some rich director who was working there." He fidgets with his tie in obvious discomfort. "I found a discarded wedding ring inside the sink." <<span class="mu-b">"...Too close to home."</span>>
Ah shit. You reach your hand out so Kiara can help you off the floor. Once you're off the ground, you pat Maruyama on the shoulder. "Sorry about that." He gives you a weird look. Right, you haven't told them you can read their minds. You click your tongue. "Did you get the name of the director?"
This is enough to distract him. "Yes but it's an obvious pseudonym. Who the fuck names their kid Liam Bean?" There's a shadow of a smile on his face when he says that. It's like he doesn't even believe what he's saying. "Typical fame-obsessed nonsense. Who needs to work when you can sleep your way to the top?"
Well, you can probably sell that story to Gregory. This apparently shows in your face since Maruyama nods along. "Yeah, yeah, I recorded the story down on some paper. Made a few 'edits' to make it more 'spicy'." He flashes a sheet of paper that is filled top to bottom. You skim it to see that, yeah, it really does seem like an affair and nothing more. Though the prose he's using makes it read more like a really, REALLY shitty romance novel for a girl triple your age...
[SEEKER OF THE CITY] You can't quite put your finger on it but something about this 'rich director' Maruyama is talking about is rubbing you the wrong way.
Somehow you feel that's intentional. You turn your attention to Kiara. She's about ready to burst into nuts and bolts from how much she's fidgeting. "Kiara? What about you?" You hope she doesn't explode in front of you. Luckily, she manages to keep her structural integrity. She clears her throat (as much as that matters for her) before saying something VERY concerning.
"There was a whole security system with cameras all over the place in there!"
