You both sensed some spirits in the interior of the this lesser graveyard. You instructed Mel to keep some distance and watch everything that happened to you both with her invisibility, giving her a signal if you needed the help.
You and your ghostgirl finally got to the bandit's graveyard, bracing yourselves.
In there you found less than half a dozen ghosts lazily floating about. They were talking and laughing amongst each other without a care in the world. All but one of them were clearly the deceased members of the Bandit King's army.
"Everybody, look! Some new guys!" One of the dead bandits chicks said as she floated closer to you, a friendly tone in her voice. You felt like you've seen her before.
"Did the Savant get you too?" Another spirit spoke. This one was very obviously her sister. She squinted at you. "Hm, you look familiar."
And then you remembered where you saw these two from: They were the assassins sisters that tried to kill you right after the first wave of the Bandit King's invasion ended. One of them died in front of you and the other died while infiltrating your estate, taking down a clanker with her.
Before you can reply Yumi speaks.
"Foolish spirits! How dare you speak so casually when in the presence of the cursed servant, the mistress of magicks, the power of the hidden clockwork: Yumi!" She struck a pose.
"Who?" The two dead sisters said in unison.
"Tch. As expected from lesser spirits." Yumi scoffed, turning away... only to immediately twirl back around and point at them. "O simple phantoms, chained to your graveyards, knowing nothing about the hidden truths or the clockwork secrets... It shall take another century before you can match the power that is Yumi!" She continued to let loose her chuuni-isms.
Now all of the other ghosts seemed to be just as confused as the two assassins.
"Is she alright?" Another Specter asked. This one was a horse beastfolk, the only one of her kind here, meaning she was part of the 'cavalry' that attacked your estate.
"Yumi's always been a special case." You spoke with a kind smile. "Please be patient with her delusions."
"Ah, I see." The horsegirl ghost said, her expression towards Yumi morphing from confusion to pity. "I have a little brother back in Westphalia that's like her, so I can commiserate."
"So, what are you guys doing here?" You asked, taking control of the conversation.
"Nothing much." The horsegirl ghost sighed. "Merely wallowing in regrets and unwilling to pass on."
"No plans of vengeance against the estate or anything?" You press.
"Nah." Another ex-bandit replied. He was the only guy in their group. Another ghostgirl, whose face you don't recall, quietly floated by his side as he continued. "In my opinion it's no better than suicide. And I don't wanna die."
"We're all already dead." One of the ghost sisters deadpanned.
