Hope and honor were but the antithesis of the Daemon. Such a fact was made clear as they suddenly became aggravated and started their next assault upon the lines of the Omnissiah’s Legion.
Just as they had before the Custodians formed into a defence of their lines with the bodies of the previous hordes being used as masonry against the incoming assault. Such was the amount of corpses that bottlenecks in the roughly half a kilometer wide line were created to force them down.
Wave after wave they were all cut down with the Omnissiah flying over all of it. Bloodletters threw themselves at the Custodian Guard hoping for once that they would break through the forces but instead each found their heads or hearts removed with the systematic slashes of the slayers.
Balls of plasma rained from above as the Automatas threw ball after ball over the guard and impacted the ground. A few of them were answered with the balls of puss and refuse from the Daemons of Nurgle but these creatures could not corrupt the blessed steel when the Omnissiah was so close.
There were plenty of cases as the Flamers of Tzeentch came around to throw a torrent of flame into the Custodians that suddenly a warrior of the Null Nobilite would appear between the two groups. Warpfire would quickly disappear as his soul ate the warp stuff. In such a station the Custodians would quickly advance with this warrior by their side to cut down the intruders before they could kill one more of their kind.
Across the lines the bodies of the Custodians were made lighter and faster as the Lanterns of Charon gave their limbs quick death. Their weapons became the tool that the Nightbringer would use to reap the souls of a dozen civilizations.
In all of their combat the Omnissiah committed himself to a great many tasks. At some hours he was focused on bringing back the fallen so that their numbers would barely leak that little bit. The more and more this happened however the need for it was decreased. More of those that were dying were those already blessed by the undeath of the Machine God, green balefire lighting their bodies as necrodermis sealed their limbs.
More and more the Omnissiah took to the field of battle.
