You got yourself a useful little security device that can be easily harvested. You stuff the flower into one of your pockets. Time to focus on another flower—the one growing out of your arm.
"Huh." You tap at the steadily growing flower attached to your wrist. "Question: Uh, how would I exactly...help this thing grow?"
"Eat better, best guess. Tied to you, grows with you." Hidaka leans against one of the many tables in your lab. "Lucy, thoughts?"
"Oh! Uhm, t-this is going to feel weird, but, uh. Anomalies are weird." Lucy drags her body over to a bag of soil. She drags it over to you, and after some struggling, she rips the bag open.
She collects some soil from the bag with her hands. She smears it around the base of the flower. It feels really weird, but the flower seems to 'relax' at the soil's presence. Hidaka, going along with this nonsense, uses a watering can to water your flower.
On your end, you just focus on drinking some orange juice to get some much-needed vitamin C. Without any sunlight down here, hoo, you need it.
Lucy carefully tends to your flower, treating it as if it were made out of glass. Hidaka keeps herself busy by recording notes about your weird anomalous flower gift.
Nothing happens for a while, and you're almost worried this was a complete waste of time. That's when you feel something squirming in your arms. Roots snaking through your veins. It's not painful or particularly uncomfortable; it just feels weird.
Suddenly, a vine sprouts out of the palm of your hand. It squirms and wiggles in the air, thrashing at an invisible threat. The vine is roughly a foot and a half long if you had to eyeball it. It doesn't seem to be listening to your instructions, but you know it's a friend.
You flex your fingers. The vine retreats, leaving behind an overgrown flower bud growing from your wrist. There's no wound on your palm, as if the vine was never there.
"In-interesting!" Lucy pokes at your palm. "C-can you s-summon it again? Please? T-that was really cool!"
You try and with some concentration, you manage to summon the vine again. It retreats back into your body as soon as you lose concentration.
Hidaka murmurs to herself, her voice laced with curiosity and a mild unease at what she saw. "Recording relevant data..."
A sickly sweet floral stench hangs in the air and, despite someone heading up to your lab, you feel safe.
Your two coworkers seem to be under the same effect you're under. The only thing keeping you from dozing off completely is the fact you KNOW danger is coming any second now.
You feel like you've developed a closer bond with SLUMBERING WISH...
>SLUMBERING WISH ABILITIES: PROTECT BODY/MIND. The flower has a chance to activate whenever your body or mind is at risk of being damaged.
>When you're in physical danger, the flower will summon a vine to lash out at any nearby threat.
