...the rustling didn't seem too bad, but Erna did have a point.
Whatever that rustling was, it probably wasn't safe. But there was no guarantee that something like that would meet them at the bottom of the stairs.
You sighed and decided to follow after her. Which clearly turned out to be the better decision, seeing as she was already descending. Shoot...
-
Once the two of you touched new ground, your immediate first thought was to look back at the sky.
Which was... still there? Somehow? What...
It looked similar to how you'd seen it just before you descended the flight. A thick canopy with grey clouds and a darker atmosphere.
Lowering your head to look around, you noticed that the entire floor was now feeling the effects of that.
You and Erna stood in a large-ish clearing, with SIX paths in every direction beckoning both of you to head down either one.
Turning to your partner prompted her to squeal a bit. "Oohhh! Indie, I had no idea this was a dungeon! And i've been here so many times before! Look at how big it is, too!"
She soon turned her head to the sky, beginning to teeter a bit as her mouth went agape. "And- oh my, the sky's still here..."
Erna looked back, then around, then up again. Soon enough, she could hardly stand still, hopping in a circle and pointing out every little pathway to you. "Indie, Indie!! It's so cool!!"
This was a good time to calm her down. And as she felt your hands grip her shoulders and keep her still, Erna realized that too. Her ears perked and she slowed as she remembered what exactly you were doing. "R-right- we have to find Dennis first. Or make sure he's here. Or... whatever."
Erna soon brushed your hand off and headed closer to the path you were directly in front of to inspect it. You thought it'd be a decent idea to do the same for all the other paths...
>Go down the first path, directly in front of the stairs. It seems relatively normal, if a little brighter than the other paths.
>Go down the second path, to the right of the first. You can hear noises from inside, but you can't make out what exactly they are. The most you can make out is some kind of voice.
>Go down the third path, to the right of the second. This one seems to have something at the end of it.
>Go down the fourth path, to the right of the third. Peering down this one seems to net you two paths in one- another crossroads.
>Go down the fifth path, to the right of the fourth. Plenty of noise from this one, but none of it sounds like anything a Pokemon could make.
>Go down the sixth path, to the right of the fifth and to the left of the first. There's something here- you can't make out what. It's definitively a dead end.
