>>6137593>>6137542Still catching up with posts, but I think I understand enough to make a ruling, and an addendum for the future.
Indeed, Ace's roll was unnecessary since he wasn't "soliciting", but the action is still being targeted, and Ace would be asked to roll another die separately to defend against Thala's 7 roll anyway. This is how I intended it to work, my apology for lack of clarity.
>Ace, please roll 1d10 against Thala! 1-6 your action is stolen this turn and Driftwood's fleet is scattered, 7 A stalemate on the high seas. (Ace still completes his Event action as planned), 8-10 Driftwood is still the meanest pirate on the seas!Added stakes: I wasn't planning on making this a recurring option, but I think it may be fitting for the God of the most fearsome pirate lord to have in his or her or its repertoire! If Sanna's Tallymen can usurp Driftwood, Thala can continue using the Event piracy option! However, If Ace wins the challenge, he gets the Event piracy option for the remainder of the Event!
Addendum: the option now comes with a caveat that nat 10's cannot be targeted.
(Note: had to repost this post because I made a typo/miscalculation)
