“Then the letter did not lie, you are going to Albion.” Gillot said as he looked at Lucian with a firmness that could be described as both respect and anger.
“There is nothing that will stop me now that we are in the Underway. We could fail in our task with the Knight of Karak Ziflin, but that will not stop me from the goal of traveling to Albion. There is little war down here, not when the Dwarfs are hidden within their holdings.” Lucian said as he laid his back into the wall, “We will see what routes exist, but the plan is to go to Marienburg unless something changes.”
“Make sure Marienburg does not fall under siege when you’re there.” The Ducal Prince said. It was a jab but also a sense of encouragement. He had heard the earlier conversation that was for sure.
“Whatever happens,” Lucian decided to ignore the slight as he continued, “I need to make it to Albion and learn where Chaos has placed itself. Then, when the time comes, we will strike.”
“The gods have surely blessed you it seems Lucian.” The Prince said as he gave a small chuckle, “Well, blessed and cursed. Even with all that has happened you have not become a Knight of the Realm.”
“That's a title I don’t think I can bear well. Yes it has prestige and it would mean I can Quest for the Grail, yet I am on my own Quest.”
“Yet you still held to it that you slayed the Warboss.”
“I slayed it with you.” Lucian corrected the man as he smiled, “Just as we slayed the Vargheist, we did it together. I simply wish for all to hear the truth.”
“Then you seek to be equals? A man who clearly has the will of the Gods upon his side and my Father’s own Favor, wishes to simply be my equal in all senses of the word?” The words came out harshly but they were not harsh against Lucian. No, the Knight felt that instead of being directed at him the young Knight was actually directing such harshness at himself.
Where he once saw Lucian as lower than dirt, he now saw himself below that which he almost had killed at a casual whim. A presence of such respect became almost sickening to the Knight who understood the world as those above, beneath, and irrelevant.
>Indeed, equals
>Take it however you do
>The Gods have chosen us, what about you?
>Nah, you’re still the son of our Lord.
