>>5836196As the ring floats there, you realize that now's your chance. Before it can find someone else to attach to, another being like Sinestro to recreate impossibly powerful beings like Lyin' Eyes Requiem, you decide to take it for yourself. So you step forward, reaching out for it with your right. Only for the ring, as your hand starts to close around it, slips up and through your fingers.
“Huh?” you mutter, the ring hovering just over your hand, almost as if taunting you before shooting straight up into the sky. “No you don't!”
Again you try reaching for it, your speed faster than the ring itself. But again it somehow slips right through your fingers like water, just brushing against your fingertips as it escapes your grasp. But you're done playing around, that ring is NOT getting away!
“Divine Dragon Force!” you call, summoning your Stand back once more as you and the ring leave the arena below behind, chasing it down. Your Stand lunges, teeth snapping and holding the ring in its mouth. Only for the ring itself to, just as Sinestro had earlier, phase through your Stand's teeth and keep flying. Launching itself straight at the tiny, blonde woman with wide eyes watching this all unfold. “Don't let that ring escape!”
But it doesn't try avoiding Tanya, in fact the ring shoots straight at her right hand. Shrinking down, it jumps onto her right hand's middle finger. You watch as that yellow light expands out around her, her uniform itself turning bright yellow. And the gemstone worn on the chain around her neck changes as well, shifting from a red to glowing golden, the emblem of the ring appearing faintly within it through the glow as her eyes shine golden. Seems that the ring has found a new host.
“Woah. This thing's even more powerful than I first thought.” she says, looking closer at the ring. She stares deeply at it for several seconds, then with clear effort closes her eyes, the yellow glow fading as your wife flies up beside you. She and you both watch as Tanya suppresses the ring, the symbol disappearing from her gem as she returns to normal. Or, at least, normal for her. She then opens her eyes, which return to their normal blue as she holds her right hand out towards you. “But I don't need this. If you want it, I think I can tell it to go to you.”
“Nah, if you can control it then it should be fine.” you reply, shaking your head. “It's incompatible with my Berserker God powers, I just wanted to make sure it wasn't going to find someone else to send after my daughter.”
“Well, you don't have that to worry about.” Tanya replies casually. “I've had enough of being a 'Champion' for a lifetime.”
