>>5258892As you head over to where the other Black Eagles are camping, you notice Ashe, Corrine and Kate, huddled together waiting for you.
“There you are missy. Just what do you think you’re doing out there by yourself? Surely you have better things to do than hang around some dead bodies?” Corrine asks you.
>“I just needed some alone time is all. Nothing to worry about.” “Corrine and Kate were filling me in on what you were up to.” Ashe says. “Me and some of the other Black Eagles were focused on routing the remaining enemy soldiers in the forest. As far as I can tell, none of them made it out.”
“A comforting thought.” Corrine says. “At the very least, we can say we’ve avenged Martha and Xavier.”
Can we? Sure, Kronya is the reason your friends are dead. But after everything you saw transpire here today, you get the feeling she was just a small piece in a much larger game. Whoever these people are, they think nothing of stripping away someone’s humanity to turn them into a Demonic Beast. This time it was two of your dear friends, but you have a bad feeling that they won’t be the last. Whoever is behind this, no matter how many of them there may be, you want to see them all dead.
“Is she really dead?” Kate asks. “We saw the Professor come back after all. What if Mon-…Kronya did as well? Her body was missing.”
>What a nightmare that would be. “I watched that Solon guy plunge his hand through her chest. If she’s alive after that, I’m not sure what it’ll take. Besides, whatever the Professor did to come back to us, I have a feeling it had to do with the Sword of the Creator. I’d wager it’s not so easy to dispose of the Goddess’s favorite weapon.”“If she is alive, I’m happy to kill her as many times as it takes. Over and over again. I can think of nothing more cathartic.” Corrine says.
“Well, her body may be missing, but this wasn’t. I swiped it from the floor when I went to check out the battlefield.”
>“What’s this?” You ask, as Ashe hands you a sheathed knife. You unsheathe it to find a familiar sight. It’s noticeably less bloody than when you last saw it, but it’s unmistakably the same weapon Kronya was using. The hilt is made of some sort of bone, while the blade appears to be Agarthium.“I uhh… took the liberty of cleaning Ferdinand’s blood off. I think you should keep it. The way I hear, you faced her down and helped wipe that smug look off her face. Think of it as a war trophy of sorts.”
