By the time he arrives, the recruits have managed to clear up a whole bunch of trash and scrap from near the entrance. The pile of junk assets left for Squid has been neatly stacked and reorganized, and any garbage has been removed from the sofas and bagged up. Three recruits have left the base to hike towards the nearest junk stream, so they can fling all their rubbish straight into it.
You take a good look at him once the blue glow of the teleporter fades away. He looks different. More tired, with a perpetually furrowed brow and attire that's noticeably scuffed up. Kaus Gammamon isn't with him, and could only be resting within his blue and white Digivice. You slowly raise a hand to wave at him, catching his attention immediately.
"Marnie. Welcome back."
He sounds tired, but you can catch a note of annoyance in his voice. You have some idea what it's about.
"Hey. Have you been filled in on the situation?"
"A little, but I'd like to hear it from you."
He heads over to the couches and plops down, clearly weary from whatever solo mission he's been on.
"Hololize."
Kaus Gammamon emerges in a surge of data, assembling his usual form and kneeling next to the comfy seats. You glance over your shoulder, wondering if you have time to fetch Phascomon, but think better of it. You join him by the sofas and settle into an adjacent one.
<span class="mu-s"><span class="mu-b">"Good evening, Marnie. We have heard that your own project was a success?"</span></span> His Digimon prompts.
"Yeah. We have the Cutemon. He and his friend are resting in a room somewhere. They want a break before healing Bella up."
"That's a relief." He says, sounding fully sincere. A bit of that exhaustion leaves his face upon hearing the good news. "And your leg?"
"Healed. He insisted on doing it first. Smaller job, but we confirmed it works."
"Good. Fill me in, then let's go set up that meeting with him. I need to talk to you afterwards."
"Yeah. Me too."
He's angry about the Espimon situation, you're sure. And you don't think that's very fair to you. How were you supposed to know there was one lurking in there? Even if they had deleted all the Digimon, they might not have caught it. But you can't defend yourself until you have a chance to rendezvous with Hi-Commandramon and interrogate him yourself. You won't let Wind get involved in that meeting, that's for sure.
But for now, you start explaining the events of your Hospital mission.
