She tries to say something in protest, but after a moment just gives in, letting you and Raditz quietly hold her. She then lays her head on Raditz's shoulder, with your arms large enough to be wrapped around the both of them in this form. The three of you remain standing like this quietly, when you feel a sudden change in Chaya and she drops. Without hesitation you let go of the hug and actually catch her, one arm behind her shoulders and the other behind her knees while Raditz freezes in place wide-eyed and caught completely off guard by her suddenly dropping.
“Woah. Ho-How long was I out?” Chaya asks, looking from you to Raditz. “What happened? I feel like we're in the gravity chamber.”
At this you don't say anything, and turn your gaze to the younger Saiyan. Chaya follows your gaze to him, and after a moment he snaps out of it. Shaking his head, he then reaches out and takes both of her hands in his own.
“What's the last thing you remember?” he asks her, his expression serious. “Where were you last?”
“Last?” she asks, brows furrowing a bit as she thinks back. “I was fighting Tanya, and I'd just driven my fist through her chest. Wait! Tanya, is she-?”
“She's okay.” Raditz says, his expression still a bit worried. “Is that really the last thing you remember? You don't know what happened next?”
“No....?” Chaya asks, looking back and forth between you both. “Wait, what happened. You said she's okay, so nothing too bad happened, right?”
“Well, she's okay.” Raditz says, clearly worried about telling her the news. But he takes a deep breath, sighing out then continues breaking the news to her. “After all, she's the new Champion.”
“Wait, what?” she says, eyes widening in surprise. “What did you just say?”
“After you punched through her chest, she put both pistols to your face and opened fire.” he tells her, Chaya going pale. “She kept shooting until they both ran empty, then tried to carve you up with her knife. If your dad hadn't teleported between you two, she would have killed you as you lost consciousness.”
“No, no way. Tanya would never.... I couldn't.... I beat her.” your daughter says, eyes wide with shock as the rest of the color drains from her face. “She didn't beat me, she COULDN'T beat me. There's no way I could lose.”
“Sorry kiddo, but she got you.” you say, Chaya turning her head around to look up at you. And she doesn't look good, her appearance seeming almost sickly pale from the shock. “You didn't take her seriously, and almost paid the ultimate price.”
