>>5951146You decide to start your trek around the inn by chatting with the first three members of the Blackwings. As usual, Theo has taken to overindulgence, drinking straight from a large keg that seems to have been personally reserved for him alone. While such behavior was clearly bewildering, Milly and Caleb watched his antics as though they were the most normal thing in the world. Only when they see you approaching them does Theo place the keg down and greet you warmly.
“There she is! Best boss I ever had!” Theo exclaims, burping loudly. “Damn…I’m gonna miss you a whole lot!”
>“Theo, how did you know-““We all know.” Milly interjects, smiling. “Everyone here does. We figured that’s what this giant party was for. One last excuse to get drunk together as a big happy family. It’s a good idea. We can send the Blackwings out with one final bang.”
“It’s better this way, too.” Caleb says. “Even if you didn’t disband the company, there’s no way we could ever outdo what we did at Zanado. Better to go out while we’re on top, eh?” He toasts with a swig of his glass. “Mercenary companies for generations will be looking towards the legend of the Blackwings for inspiration.”
>“I see.” So, your intuition was right. Everyone here already knew that this was the Blackwing’s final night together. “Well then, I won’t beat around the bush. Where do the three of you intend to go from here? Just so you know, you’re more than welcome to join me back in Rusalka. I could certainly find work for the three of you. You’d be helping me greatly too.”The Killer Trio glance at each other briefly, and you sense some awkwardness. It seems that the three of them had already made up their mind about what they were going to do and were now looking to see who would break the news to you first.
“You’re sweet to offer, Blair.” Milly says sympathetically. “But...well, we’re adventurers at heart. Always have been. Staying put in one place just isn’t for us. We had a chance to live that life once. And if we did, well, we never would have met you.”
“So, we’re putting the band back together.” Theo says triumphantly. “The Killer Trio is going back on tour! Only this time, we’ve got ourselves a new name. You’re looking at the Blackwing Trio, Blair! The most esteemed travelling circus troupe in all Fodlan!”
“We thought we might have more success if we ditched the ‘Killer’ part of our name.” Caleb admits. “Plus, this way, we can take a piece of the Blackwings with us wherever we go.”
>“So, you’re really serious about this whole travelling entertainment thing?”“It certainly beats fighting.” Milly says. “And the three of us have been doing that for much longer than you’d think. After our last company was slaughtered by the Ashen Demon, we wanted to do something different. And it felt like it would be a waste to not use our lives for good.”
