The guard you ripped the head clean off of lets go of Seath. It snaps its gaze over to you before recklessly charging at you, not caring about defending itself in the slightest.
Kiara digs into her pocket and with a skilled toss, she sends a knife flying towards its leg. It hardly slows it down at all but that's not the point: You only care about distracting them.
It snaps its attention to Kiara. They only have one track minds, huh? Interesting. Kiara easily manages to dodge it but the other two bodyguards let go of Seath. Meanwhile, the stunted one crawls over to the headless one and presents its head to it.
The headless one rips off the stunted one's head to regain whatever senses it lost from you decapitating it. Clover, Casey and Kiara are going to distract them as long as possible with fists, knives or rapiers. No point wasting ammo when they're going to burn down here anyways.
Max and Benjamin take this momentary distraction to activate their abilities. Two ashen wings sprout out of Benjamin's back and Max's hands begin to drool a constant stream of colorful oil onto the ground.
Fatigue and exhaustion quickly hits them as the suppressing haze of darkness is now back in full effect thanks to the gas grenades running out. It's taking every last bit of focus to keep their abilities active and you fear they might not be able to keep them up long enough to get the job done.
<<span class="mu-b">"ALL OF IT MUST BURN! YOU CAN DO THIS. THIS IS THE ONLY WAY TO CURE THIS HORRID INFECTION."</span>> Benjamin quickly launches into the air. He has to slow down real fast in order to not smash his head against the ceiling. He prepares to launch his attack at a moment's notice.
[SHELTERED] Max hesitates for a brief moment. This is all so, so far above her paygrade. But you fear if she doesn't snap out of it soon this attack may be a complete nonstarter.
"C-c'mon..." She's trying to will herself to move. You should probably help her...
You take a deep breath and shout out something to try encouraging her, "I'LL BE YOUR BACKUP! YOU CAN DO THIS!"
That's enough to get her moving. She charges at the anomaly with as much bravado as she can muster. She swings her arm in a wide sweeping motion that causes splotches of oil to splatter all over the mossy heart's surface. In retaliation, a massive vine launches up from underneath Max in a desperate attempt to impale her.
You yank her back just in time with your telekinesis, saving her from being a vine kebab.
You doubt the surface level oil would be enough to do serious damage to the anomaly and Max seems to agree. She begins to collect and condense all of the oil she's been producing into one massive ball. Once it's double the size of her own head, she leans back and tosses it right towards the massive gap in the middle of the mossy heart.
Her aim is sloppy but you subtly course correct it with your telekinesis. The oil ball pops like a water balloon once it enters the gash, soaking DEEP into the anomaly's core.
