Briefly, it looks as if you’re going to hold out through his attack. Gradually though, you get pushed back. Inch by inch, you try to resist giving ground, but the force of Felix’s strike is far too great. Had he not had his Crest, it’s possible you could come out on top here. Unfortunately, life is not fair, and your muscles give way as you are sent flying back again by his empowered attack.

You land still on your back, where you remain, dizzily looking at the azure sky above. Your head is ringing, and your arms feel as though they’re on fire, but it could certainly be much worse. Thank the Goddess this was merely a spar and not the real thing. The crowd that had gathered around you seems to be dispersing. The novelty of seeing an ordinary girl push a Crest-bearing noble to his limits has passed now that she’s lost. Your view is suddenly taken up by Felix, who extends his hand downward to give you a lift.
“That was a close one.” He says, helping you back up to his feet. “You’ve improved a tremendous amount since the Mock Battle.”
>“Not as much as I’d like, clearly.” You wince, trying to stretch out some of the pain.Felix shrugs. “Don’t be so hard on yourself. That truly could have gone either way.” He smirks. “You know, I half expected you to throw another Fireball at me, like you had done during the Mock Battle. I had been trying to anticipate it, so that I could attempt a side-step at the last second and catch you with your guard off. But you made me push through that ridiculously tough defensive stance of yours. That was a good call.”
>“I won’t lie, the thought occurred to me. Hearing that you expected it makes me feel a bit better, I suppose. Not by much though.”Felix chuckles. “Well, if you’re feeling sour about it, come find me anytime you’d like. I’ll always be happy to spar with you.”
