“Because…” Haile trailed off, and frowned, “Because we do. You don’t need to know the details. It doesn’t matter. The enemy is weak, and we have a chance to do more damage to them.”
“…” The Major frowned back, and paced in a tight circle. “So be it, but I think that you should do this with the consent of the Battalion as a whole, since they will be the ones who will have less chance to recover and rest, and you’ll be trusting them to successfully carry out the operation. If they advise to delay, I’d trust them.”
Haile’s frown deepened into a very un-ladylike dark scowl, but she cocked her head away with a shake of her auburn hair, the wind rustling through her long-coat, ruffling it like a dress. “Fine. I trust that they will have the confidence necessary to ensure their victory. They have my trust to carry the day. But we will not be sitting here waiting for the foe. That much I can assure.”
>Immediately prepare to advance upon Kobberhus and attack it. Why? You don’t need to know the details. It’s your mission. [No opportunity to repair or recover assets, or reinforce. Captured mechanical assets may be pressed into service.]
OR
>Request the rest of this day and a good portion of the next to recover, repair, and reinforce. You’ll need it, and the enemy’s got their hands full. [Allows for recovery of knocked out assets- and the chance to repair and reinforce intact friendly units.]
Spare crews for vehicles are available- but reinforcement of infantry works just like everybody else, so reinforcing their damage will require the latter option.
In either choice, there will be small inter-battle operations; tasks your units can volunteer to assist with that have varying risk and reward, though also necessity to do. They will not have maps- but they will have input from you in their chance for success or failure.
When the next large battle proper starts, it will be in a new thread- and after a bit of a decompress break, probably for a few days following minor ops resolution.
