The walk continued, and you all ventured closer to the woods. Mostly to check if what Eulia said was true.
You saw some movement come out of the forest. A few clankers started to attack an assortment of skeletons and other ghouls that lumbered towards you. An armored clank launched a missile at them. Though it missed by a long shot, the explosion was still able to disorient them enough for the rest of the clankers to mop them up. None of you had to even lift a finger.
"How annoying." Ruby said, purposefully pressing her supple tiddies against your side.
"I'm still confident we can claim most of the shorelines and up to the forest's entrance, bare minimum." Ayane calculated.
"Ah!" Gerty seemed to realize something. "Master!" Gerty asked for your attention. "I'd like to inform you of an action you could take!"
"Finally got that head of yours working again, I see." You said, and she relaxed "Go ahead."
"Eliminating the corruption will grant us the acknowledgement and respect of an many Knightly Orders and many Adventuring Guilds. The results will lead to our claims being cemented and even extended to touch with our neighbors."
"Are you sure?" That was easily more than 200 miles.
"I'm almost certain, Master."
"You're 'almost' certain?" You frown and click your tongue. "And why didn't you tell me about this earlier? Are you that clueless, or is understanding common sense too complicated for an absent-minded sow like you?"
"Forgive me for my uselessness, Master!" Gerty seemed pretty happy.
You asked her further about this, and came to the conclusion that this might actually be a huge bureaucratic mess to deal with if you wanted the Adventurer's Guild and/or any international anti-corruption Knightly Order to back you.
What you found interesting about Guilds and Knightly Orders was that some of them acted like the Red Cross back in your old world. Sort of. Not really. Many of them were local in nature and had influence only in their respective provinces, but enough overlap happened when existential threats like goblins or corruption appeared.
Later that day Herta shared some good news with you.
"Master, I have some great news! I finished repairing the structures!" She said enthusiastically. "We can set it to either shoot a giant laser, create mist, or strengthen the mansion's structure!" There was a proud twinkle in her eye.
That is great news. And extremely convenient too.
"Don't get ahead of yourself!" You pinched her cheek and copped a feel of her butt. "How come you weren't able to make it do all three at once? You useless goddess! You should feel lucky I'm even keeping an airheaded goddess like you around as my breeding sow."
