>>5670167>“I’ll handle those monsters down below.” You say, unsheathing the Blessed Lance you kept equipped to Beathan. Those Demonic Beasts looked fierce and were likely experimented on to be even deadlier than the usual breed. But there were only three, and you possessed a weapon that was more than effective against them. With your captains at your side, you felt more than capable of dispatching the creatures. “You deal with those mages, Ingrid. Leave the Demonic Beasts to us. Fighting these things has become my specialty.”Ingrid nods. “Very well. Best of luck, Blair. We’ll rendezvous once we’re done.”
You and your captains fly over the ongoing three-way battle below you. By now, Dimitri and the others have joined the fray, trapping the Alliance between themselves and the Empire. You can make out multiple crests activating from every side of the fighting. You think to yourself that if there’s any silver lining here, it’s that you can fly over that hellhole and avoid getting involved in the fray. Your had nothing but the highest sympathies for those infantrymen unfortunate enough to be caught within the crossfire of feuding noblemen.
The three Demonic Beasts before you are both massive and are armored in such a way that most of their vital organs are defended. Their heads are completely covered in some sort of bizarre looking plating, and they are being guided to the front-line by small batches of imperial soldiers who are dragging them along with chains. Upon seeing you and your allies descending on them, the soldiers freeze and abandon the creatures, causing them to begin rampaging.
The first Demonic Beast crushes an imperial soldier underfoot and roars loud enough for the entire battlefield to hear it. It looks up just in time to see you attacking it in a downward aerial strike.
>Blair: (29 STR + 8 (Blessed Lance) + 5 (Lancefaire) + 4 (Fiery Blood) – 19 DEF = 27x3 = 81 DMG>Demonic Beast (59/149 HP)The Blessed Lance glows red hot upon sensing its favored foe. It cracks straight through the beast’s armored plating, letting loose a gush of blood from the wound it inflicts. The beast roars in pain but is far from dead as it swipes at you with one of its large claws. You’re not fast enough to avoid the creature’s attack, and a grazing slash is left on the side of you and Beathan.
>Demonic Beast: 35 STR – 24 DEF = 11 DMG>Blair: 42/59 HPHurt, but undeterred by the creature’s attack, you out speed it before it can recover and attack it once more with your enchanted lance, striking the same spot you had previously hit. This time, your second attack proves to be enough to put the beast down for good. Your spear plunges deep and connects with whatever mechanism it is that keeps the foul creature moving. Its nerves severed, it falls to the ground to lie in a heap, dead.
