>>5309758You look and Perturabo and you both have the briefest recognition. This may be his fight.
But he is not alone.
You charge in with him, and suddenly several firing rounds cover you from Deliah, as she provides cover honor guard goes to fixing up the family of Perturabo.
"I will not move back." The beast says
"I stand still instead." As you attack it completely changes tactics.
Where it was once evasive, it begins to just absorb the attacks and blocking.
When Perutabo strikes he grabs it with his hand.
When you swing your axe he parries and pushes it away.
This isn't to say he is on a pure defense, he strikes back, and he grazes you multiple times. The strikes are strong, and Perturabo's stubborn attitude is allowing him to hold the line, but you fear that if it wasn't one of your brothers, they would be dead or worse. You strike repeatedly as Deliah's firing, actually seems to be doing something which is surprising to say the least-
He is no longer immune to range attacks.
He is somehow able to control which attacks he is able to just ignore.
As perturabo continues to hit you begin firing with electric blasts, then he focuses on you instead of perturabo, but isntead of responding with speed, he slowly walks towards you.
Perturabos hits do nothing, and you realize.
Perturabo is setting him up. You continue on with Perturabos tactic drawing him towards you and Deliah.
Then, whatever absurd weapon on Perturabo's gauntlet begins firing at it's rapid pace doing significantly more damage than your weapons.
It sneers. And turns towards Perturabo.
Then you see it.
A sheen. A quick change of color. Almost undetectable.
You are on the back of the beast with your daggers at speeds you don't want to calcuate. There is a roar as the daggers penetrate his back and it screams.
"WHERE DID YOU EVEN GET THAT KIND OF METAL?!" It shouts as it seems trapped in place, it seems desperate to try to flee and disappear like it had before, but it seems anchored somehow.
Perturabo casually walks up looks at his hammer then at the beast. Without word or warning the beast falls to the ground a bloodied puddle, and Pertuarbos hammer on the ground where a head once would have been.
"Bo!" A younger woman runs up to your brother.
"You returned!" She says.
"Of course I would. Why wouldn't I?" You sense something odd in his voice, something new.
"Father- y-you need to see him." Perturabo runs over and you do as well, Meera gives you a look as she tends to the father. This look, you can tell, you cannot save him.
His father is about to die, but before you say anything.
"Per-tu-perturabo. Son, I am sorry. I didn't have enough time. I didn't listen." He says, with tears in his eyes, as Perturabo is displaying something new. Varied, and highly visible emotion.
