Patrocliot Gerevette assesses the reports and correspondence, the grim trickle of news from Adenai that does not seem to cease now that it has been unleashed toward him. A darkness, a death squad, a madness and eyes of red crystal. His eyes twitch involuntarily to the tomes of his personal library, notes upon the fall of Urong and the scourge of the forsaken dawn, and of other fallen cities that litter Pavillion's histories. Just what manner of forces has Lucius aligned with, might he be using - or might be using him?
Lucius must be stopped. The sooner the better, no matter the cost. That certainty makes this simple. Patrocliot goes before the King in the Orcmanie, to tell of what he has heard, to speak of what must be done. He bows, and lowers his head in allegiance to the cause. He must go himself, of course; and the Orcman king understands this. Grenlug IV has his own role to play hereon. Patrocliot's last words before he leaves are to his son, Severiot. Many lifetimes of the fullmen have they lived, yet this might be the last time either might see the other living. Severiot is told of the network of contacts, and passed parchments and certificates, an ornate ring of family heraldry. Whatever happens next, the Rooin townhouse is his here on.
And so it is to the border near Cadon that Patrocliot travels, reliant upon an old army contact to see him safely across; to usher him into the heart of the encampment of the Adenic army upon the border. There he will address the assembled commanders and attempt to convince them through all his will and prowess that there can be no further delay in the face of calamity, that they must pledge their men to his cause that will lead to rebellion and civil war, that Lucius must fall.
And then he shall see the results of their choice. Either his remaining life left will be measurable in moments, or the Adenic sigil of the camp will lower, with the emblem of house Gerevette to be raised in place.
