W looked between you and Gwen, and then back again, before calmly stepping behind you. Suddenly, Gwen’s smug grin quickly turned into a scandalized scowl.
<span class="mu-g">“Oh, come on! I thought we were really bonding back there.”</span>
<span class="mu-r">“Sorry, G. She’s known me longer.”</span> you said, not feeling a hint of shame for rubbing it in her face. <span class="mu-r">“Looks like I won the custody battle.”</span>
<span class="mu-g">“Oh, this isn’t over.”</span> she said, before switching gears and pasting a sickeningly sweet smile on her face. <span class="mu-g">“W, sweetie. You know you can tell me if he bribed you into doing that.”</span>
The masked clone took another step towards you, and Gwen’s face fell.

Shortly after being returned to your city, you quickly found that our phone was flooding with notifications of missed calls and texts. Almost all of them were from that unknown number, and you were about to disregard it as a particularly persistent spam caller, when you played the voicemail that had been left for you.
Apparently, Cindy had gotten into a fight at school, and was being held in detention after school. Due to it being a boarding school, you were in no way required to meet with her counselor in person, but they were at least required to notify you and discuss the issue over the phone.
Vic texted you about it, saying that they called her as the emergency fallback contact since you weren’t responding.
