The closest Securitrons are maybe half a day away at least, even with them going at full speed. Hell, you might not even get there on time. It’s about 3 hours by your speed and the firefight may be concluded with the attackers having melted back into the desert by that point.
Even if you’re too late to stop the attack, you’ll be damned if they get away with it.
Rushing over to where the five Securitrons are loitering, you direct four to hold each intersection of the Main Street of Primm while you hitch a ride on the fifth. While you’re one of the fastest men in the Mojave, even you have your limits and you might need the extra firepower.
[Securitron, take me to the Mojave Outpost. Fast as you can.]
*SIR, YES SIR! Climb aboard, sir!*
While the other four Securitrons head in opposite directions, you clamber up and grab a hold along the carapace of the robot. It won’t be the easiest ride of your life, but you’ll get there in about an hour or so.
As the Securitron races towards the outpost, you take stock of your inventory. You hadn’t expected a protracted fight, having the All-American, Maria, Thump-Thump, Chance’s Knife and a healthy amount of plasma grenades. While you’re packing enough ammo to outfit a platoon, the Desert Ranger Combat Armor you found from Zion is what will give you the edge.
Untying the poncho that was disguising your equipment, you mentally run through everything once again. Short of an invading army, you should be able to hit them with shock and awe.
To the Securitrons' credit, you arrive at the opening of the Mojave Outpost canyon within an hour. The sound of steady gunfire has taken over the quiet night, with the occasional explosion accompanying what sounds like a vicious and protracted exchange.
[Stay here, only let what looks like civilians through.]
*SIR, YES SIR.*
While a Mkll isn’t impervious to damage, you’d hate to run into one in the night. Taking out All-American, you give yourself a healthy helping of chems and quickly make your way up the road.
