Karz looks down to his spider, humming a quiet tune as it dances onto his fingers. He flinches slightly at the sensation, but forces himself to maintain his melody as he turns his appendage. The spider moves with him, staying upright atop his hand until it is splayed in his palm.
“Does it bother you?” he asks, when next he pauses in his humming… Then seems to immediately regret it. “No, obviously not. That’s a stupid thing to ask.”
“Yes,” you agree. “It is a foolish question. Why should I miss it, when I can make it?”
He looks queerly at you, then seems to understand.
“Bloodrise.”
You rise in response, turning towards the distant mountains, above and beyond the stone, to the north and east.
“Come, Throat-singer,” you command. “Let’s go home.”
