With a flourish of his staff, Diogenes and his copies disappear from your view. Snapping your head to turn around, you see that they’ve warped themselves into the midst of your backline. The real Diogenes, wielding his curved Agarthium sword, chooses Corrine as his target. He slashes her across the abdomen, causing her to double over. Quickly regaining her footing, she tries to swipe at the Sage with her axe but finds only air. He dances out and around her before leaving a grisly cut that pierces through her armor and causes her to scream.
>Corrine (11/47 HP) (POISONED -5 HP a Turn)The Diogenes that wields a spear chooses Damian as his target. He plunges the lance into the former noble’s chest before brutally ripping it out. Damian, being quick on his feet, manages to back up before he can strike again and bathes his foe in a torrent of flame. Though not strong enough to kill thanks to the copy’s high resistance, it still manages to inflict some damage.

The girl shrieks as she takes a hit on the shoulder that causes her to lose all the feeling in her arm. She counters with a gout of Crest-empowered dark magic that engulfs her foe’s body, sending it sprawling back unable to counterattack her.

Having now seen them in action, it looks as though they’ll instantly counterattack anyone who tries to strike the real Diogenes in melee range, though they won’t extend the same courtesy to other copies.
