In the end, the leaders of the tribe decide to redistribute livestock and other goods for the benefit of the conquered peoples. The most successful Protavic families are forced to surrender some of their pigs and tools so that they might be given to the Bruslavic and Glachovic instead. Proponents of this policy argue that the conquered tribes deserve this – they didn't just lose their warriors during the war, but a significant number of their able-bodied workers. This shall not serve as adequate compensation for the hundreds of lives that were lost, but some of the heads of the Protavic believe that it is a step in the right direction.
This decision works – partially. Though some rebellious youths still flee into the forest to join the Grovic or get eaten by bears, the majority of them begrudgingly remain in Protavic territory and live according to Protavic traditions. Thanks to the redistribution of wealth, all they have to do is fall in line in order to live comfortable lives. Unfortunately, a lot of true-born beast-bringers are angry with this decision – why must they make sacrifices for the sake of lesser people, especially when they are so disobedient and ungrateful? Thankfully, they merely grumble to one another and do not take action against the tribe. They remain loyal, for now.
A generation passes.
Gradually, the dominated tribes seem to be adapting to the beast-bringing way of life. Two fifths of the clan now consider themselves Protavic to some extent. As diversity dwindles, the tribe's identity grows stronger and more resilient.
>The civilisation gets +10 Cohesion.
However, something has happened in the region that was once Glachovic territory. As quick as lightning, a band of raiders armed with longbows and clad in bearskins slew a dozen tribesmen and abducted almost twenty more. They fled across the river and into Scagravic territory before our tribe was able to retaliate, but there is no doubt – these must be the descendants of the huntsmen who abandoned their clan to its fate. Worse still, they either belong to the tree-dwellers or they are welcome among them. Something must be done about this.
