>>5163775This is useful, thank you. I can see it is sort of a fast skill check resolution system, whereas I would like to incorporate some elements of the physics of the guns like rpm cyclic rate or kinetic energy Joules delivered etc, but not so much like GURPS level lol. But I will think about it a bit more.
>>5163776>Why not make your own system with as little dice as possible? So most of my playthroughs were diceless:
INVULTUA (actually 4 playthroughs in one thread. Vaguely baroque space 40k like stuff inspired by Dan Abnett Inquisitor)
https://lws.thisisnotatrueending.com/qstarchive/2021/5054156/The Consort - death / executed
The Eschatonomist - escaped / fled, but sort of lived on
The Beggar Knight - victory, but a dark ending killing innocents (became a Witch-Knight, marauder conqueror)
The Preceptor - defeat / capture. Maybe lived.
GALERNE (2.5 or 3 playthroughs, in one thread. Sort of an Age Of Sail island fantasy setting.)
https://lws.thisisnotatrueending.com/qstarchive/2021/5094509/The Sibyl - this was an outstanding victory. Anons played this one really well. They won, but at a cost.
The Corsair: Barbarian, Privateer (This had a complex intertwining structure. It was two characters simultaneously)
Barbarian - lived, and vanquished the Maggot Dragon, but did not achieve all that was needed
Privateer - It was a defeat. Probably had to flee in the end to avoid capture.
GOLGOTHA (3 and a bit playthroughs lol across 2 threads. Urban gothic, tactical guns and tarot lol)
https://lws.thisisnotatrueending.com/qstarchive/2022/5121867/https://lws.thisisnotatrueending.com/qstarchive/2022/5131732/The Magus: defeat / executed by Cartel. His Death and destruction of The Tower caused the world to unravel...
- 1st Afterlife mode / Motel, Riot, Dead Land
Apotheosis, but it is a pretty grim ending. God of a dead and empty world
- 2nd Afterlife mode / Haircut, Switchblade Salon, The Underworld
Perhaps broke the curse of the Magus...? But died unnecessarily doing so.
- 3rd Afterlife mode / The Fat Man, and ...?
I think the anon gave up and lost interest. It made me a bit sad lol
So of the 10 playthroughs across all these worlds, depending how you count it, only 1 outright win, 4 survived but got dark/grim mixed endings, rest all defeat / deaths. 10% chance of victory... is it too brutal?
