You toss pictures of the Admiral alongside a strip of his overcoat into the air. The Sailor widens his eyes in shock but quickly readjusts his focus to the impromptu brawl. The scars covering his face and hands glow a light blue. Power tattoos?
>35!
Like a piston of a powerful engine, his left fist launches forward at speeds too fast for any regular human to react to. It damn near caves your face in but you manage to duck at the last second. Sparks of navy blue and orange land on your face and by god, they burn.
Your hands instinctually grab onto his arm and without realizing what you're even doing, you hear a violent POP from his arm socket. His left arm is now dangling loosely like an old man's dick. Despite this, it's clear he's not in any actual pain. He's more impressed than anything.
"Hrm. A normal person wouldn't been able to dodge that." He pops his arm back into its socket with little to no effort. He helps you collect the mementos you threw into the air to distract him. "So. He's with you, huh?"
"In a sense. You said something about an outstanding payment?"
"One: Tell him I'm sorry I couldn't go onto his last voyage."
[CAPTAIN'S AUTHORITY] "It's fine." You speak in an oddly deep tone that's still clearly your voice. "You were only human."
The Sailor nods. "Thank you. I knew something was different about this girl. Antlers aside."
"Two: Tell him that you deserve this." He tosses you a small bag before gesturing at you to leave him be. "I have no more business with you or the Admiral. It was nice meeting him at least."
As you walk away, you feel an odd rush of power flooding through your system. A power from a certain Admiral...it feels GOOD. Too good.
[CAPTAIN'S AUTHORITY] Thank you for letting me reconnect with an old friend. I will admit it was selfish of me. Consider this your payment.
>You gain +1 VIOLENCE and TALENT permanently! Both are now at 8!
You do so. You crack open the bag to find a bundle of $500. That's it? You were expecting some loot or something but it's just that: A payment. Oh well, you won't turn it down.
You soon join back up with the rest of your allies. They were all waiting for you by the building at the end of the streets. Clover's the first to say anything.
"So, you know that couple I spotted? Apparently their dog got kidnapped by a syndicate of all things."
"Verily! For it appears the SEAL OF BRAM'VESH has taken an interest in their poor canine!" Casey interjects on Clover's behalf. "It appears this is not the first nor last kidnapping the Syndicate has done!"
"Though I imagine it's mostly people instead of dogs..."
"I prefer if we didn't bother the anomaly-obsessed cult," Max nervously laugh. "But they did say they would pay us."
"Two birds with one stone! We can get their dog back and follow them to whatever abandoned facilities they occupy!"
...It's something.
>OPTIONAL OBJECTIVE: DEAL WITH THE SEAL OF BRAM'VESH. REWARD: $600, +1 D-CORP FAVOR, A CHOICE OF ONE OUT OF FOUR PARADIGMS.
