The Black Knight rose to his feet as the tears dried up. A prayer given to all who had fallen and thanks for the might he was given. He was about to move towards his friends, those that were but playthings for the Vampire, but then he saw the world had changed.
No longer was the light of Morrslieb dyeing the world in green light. Mannslieb, the white moon of tides, was high in the sky. Perhaps it was because of the defeat Lucian had committed against great evil that had scared off the moon. It was still hiding out there. The Knight knew this, but the night had definitely changed.
He noticed it then, the bird that was sitting at one of the many vines which seeked to overwhelm this temple to the Gods. It was a raven carrying a golden laurel.
Upon noticing the creature the bird flew off down the stairs. As it did, the golden leaves from the branch it carried slowly fell onto the ground as if it was a path.
A treaty with death? That was the guess that Lucian had when he saw the Omen. Clearly it was more than a simple omen though for it was trying to guide him. The Knight soon made his way towards his fellows and looked upon the condition of those he protected.
Tee-Nee-Tyny was wrapped in the arms of Bok. The Giant Kroxigor showing its many fangs as the Knight came close to them. It looked as though the Vampire had been torturing the body of the Skink with a great amount of magic, robbing him of what little vitality the body of the Skink had. He was still alive though, a steady breathing at the chest.
There Lucian made his way to Adok. The Dwarf was twisting and turning, clearly in a long induced sleep as he could not properly rest. There the Knight could see that the runes dotting his body had been damaged, likely because the Vampire needed to deface them to make the Dwarf weak.
There, when looking at the neck of the Dwarf, did Lucian notice the fangmarks that were embedded into a ruinous neck. She had her way with the Runesmith it would seem, using him as a blood bag on travels. It was demented but made sick sense, Lucian realized, for Dwarfs did indeed have a great vitality to them. If the Knight knew his lore of the undead enough, it also had mind altering effects on the one who was bitten. Adok still breathed though.
Getting his arms underneath the Dwarf, Lucian gave a mighty heave and pulled him up. Seeing him starting to move Bok did the same, holding Tee-Nee-Tyny in his hands to follow the Knight.
His friend in his hands and scythe on his back the Knight made his way towards the great stairs of the Temple, those opposite the way he came in. There he saw the Raven waiting for him, before the bird flew down into the valley between mountainous temples.
Lucian followed.
