Time went by and another brother was discovered in the decade after the next.
The one discovered was a being named Konrad Curze. His discovery was one which was rapt in chaos and mayhem of a planet marked as Nostramo. To say that the news of his borther’s beliefs came with a sense of an understatement to TalOS.
The man was so insane that he did not go by his true name. When the Emperor named him Konrad Curze demanded that he be called the Night Hunter as he terrorized an entire world with his devilish schemes.
It was the right decision to not extend to his brother an invitation. As news came that the man quickly turned the 8th Legion into murderers was enough to guarantee he had a good chance of just trying to murder the Federation if ever he arrived.
As for the outlook of the continued Crusade TalOS did not know.
In other matters TalOS was able to extend a line to his brother Leman Russ about his lack of appearance upon the Northern Front. Leman stated through the astropathic message that he was understanding that what happened was at the direct orders of the Emperor but gave a lamentation of his new role.
That role being the Emperor’s Executioner.
He did not say it but the reason he shared such news with TalOS was that they could not have an alliance anymore. Where before Leman Russ was simply politicking among his brothers now he must remain on the outside of it all. TalOS wondered if his brother was thankful that the Xth was not someone who he had gotten close to.
For a moment TalOS wondered if he was close to that brother. His memories wiped, TalOS did not know a single moment where he and the Xth had talked or worked with one another. There was not even a warp based afterimage for TalOS to grip onto, only the order from the Emperor to wipe all memory of his brother.
Sadness was there, sadness for what was lost and unknown now. From what TalOS understood even his brothers do not remember fully what their brother was, each of their minds picked apart by the Emperor to make sure nothing remained.
Where TalOS felt sadness though there was also glee. Knowledge of the Machine God’s enemies and that they will hold the secrets he was seeking.
