With a small drift the Omnissiah approached those who had fallen. Their bodied string out behind their fellows as the ranks were closed once again to form the wall of perfection that the guardians were known for.
His appearance was quickly realized by those that were present not counting the guard. As for the reason the guard did not care for the appearance of the Omnissiah, he was sure it was because of the Emperor in some form. Those, like the Null Nobilite and Tech Priest quickly took positions around him. The Tech Priests kneeled while the Nobilite poised themselves for an attack.
They did not launch that attack though. The reasoning was simple, that many among their ranks recognized the face of their founder upon the Omnissiah’s visage.
The Omnissiah reached the body of the fallen and gripped it. He could hear it, the dissipating soul of the Custodian who was serving alongside the Emperor. Tenderly within his hands the Omnissiah read the entire history and all the names that the Custodian held in his service to his liege. In doing so the Omnissiah impaired knowledge of the situation and who he was to the Custodian.
It was after this study that he spoke, “Soul of Orion, you have fallen in battle against the hordes that threaten your sovereign. You will die with no ability to serve your Lord once I release your soul into whatever depths of the Immaterium your Lord has created for your kind. Thus I ask you, Orion Librus, do you wish to continue service? In doing so you will lose whatever can be called an Afterlife, but you will serve the Emperor.”
“Even in Death, Our Duty is to Serve.” The dead spoke.
“Rise.” The Omnissiah declared as he took a piece of his body and trapped the soul into it.
Those on the outside would swear that they witnessed the gunmetal being bleeding a single drop upon the corpse of the Custodian. Then they witnessed as green lighting began to consume the Companion of the Emperor while his body spasmed.
Soon though the Custodian Guard rose from his place with green eyes. The place he was injured, a slice in the gut, was repaired with silver while the rest of his body remained golden.
With the resurrection completed the Guardian quickly advanced into the grouping of Guards and resumed his place in combat. Such was to be expected for the Machine God has had Epochs to realize what went wrong with the Necrons and how he would improve them. The first realization he had was simple, that they needed souls.
Thus, the Omnissiah bound the Custodian within his suit of armor. It was unstable and would likely fail unless the Omnissiah was nearby, but that was exactly what needed to happen.
