About halfway up, you notice several shapes descending on you. Some of the patrolling fliers have taken notice, and are descending towards Astamon.
"Incoming!"
He plants his feet firmly against the side of the building and sinks his knife into the surface, making sure he's well braced to fire.
<span class="mu-s"><span class="mu-r">"I told you I saw them! I could spot them a kilometer away!"</span></span> The first Digimon squawks.
<span class="mu-s"><span class="mu-r">"Don't think that'll get you any credit from us!"</span></span> A second yells.
One of them is a bird, and the other is a bug. They have the same squat stature, but one is noticeably more dangerous than the other. Namely, the one with a gigantic Gatling gun turret hanging off its abdomen.
Astamon immediately starts firing a few warning shots. These guys aren't as agile as some of the other foes you've fought. The owl is immediately struck by several bullets. It sags heavily, struggling to keep flying, then vanishes behind a building. The moth, however, bats its wings and sends puffs of powder into the air. The Hellfire rounds cause an explosion once they reach the cloud of particles, nullifying the small-scale attack.
<span class="mu-s"><span class="mu-r">"How do you like that Gauss Powder?!"</span></span> It taunts.
Astamon responds by firing several hundred more bullets, which curve around the corner and strike both Digimon. One of them dies from its injuries, and you hear the sound of its body disintegrating. Once the threat has passed, he continues climbing. But it's too late. the horde has already been alerted.
