The Imperial Fist looked up at the fortress that was sent down from the ships above. The amount of work that still needed to be done was daunting but it was something that he could not help. The Mechanicum had of course done most of the hard work already.
With those thoughts he looked down at the massive amount of battlements that were being built around the fortress. Around five percent of them were made by the work crew that he was operating with and the rest by his brothers in other groups. With a simple stroke of the shovel he gave another tug and sent the dirt flying into the Servitor driven wheelbarrow that he had been given.
It was good work. Something that he hoped if their gene-father were to ever see, he would be proud of them. A simple desire. Something that he knew crept in the bone of all Astartes who have yet to meet their Primarchs.

Soon the laser came out with a forceful striking that dug through both dirt and stone.
The weapon did not act like it would have in combat, instead giving a continuous ray of power that dug into the stone at three and a half metrics a second. The Fist was cleanly aware of las weapons being dialable like that of the Lasgun. But he had never used such weapons in his life.
He had to admire what was occuring before him though. Yes he was a novice in special weapons but the ease and skill that the 2nd Legionnaires presented was always admirable. He himself preferred a trowel in the hand but seeing such works like this…
