However, that would allow Hypatia to continue to harass you with her staves. Now that Mina and Corrine have been neutralized, any more status effects may prove to be deadly. Instead, you decide that you’ll distract the Elder Bael, and allow someone to sneak past it and take out the Agarthan sorceress. Despite still being silenced, you’re able to make eye contact with Ashe. Perhaps you owe it to the bond the two of you share, but your lover is able to make out your idea from a few quick hand signals and head nods. Hoisting your spear up, you charge alone towards the giant spider.
The Elder Bael immediately snaps its attention towards you, perhaps recognizing that you were the one that inflicted damage on it earlier and wishing to pay you back. Standing once more on its hind legs, it plunges down in an attempt to crush you flat. You swiftly dodge to the right as the spider’s legs crash into the floor, kicking up dirt and stone. You slash at its limbs, not looking to inflict any major damage, but simply hoping to continue to distract it so that Ashe and the others can corner Hypatia. The spider whips around and tries to snap at you with its disgusting mandibles, but even in these cramped quarters, you prove to be far too fast for the creature. The Elder Bael quickly finds itself tripping over itself as it focuses solely on you.
“Kill her! Hurry up and kill-” Hypatia begins shouting only to be suddenly cut off. Sparing a quick glance behind you, you see that Ashe and Milly have quickly climbed up to the platform and attacked the Agarthan. Both of them have drawn their daggers and now hold them to the cleric’s throat, having wrestled the staves out of her hand, effectively neutralizing her.
The spider once more raises its legs to attack you, only to stagger back in pain when an arrow launched by Ava lands directly in its eye. The creature roars and begins moving erratically as you take a step back. The Bael is then knocked to its side when Sebastian charges into it with his spear. The heavily armored general manages to send the creature onto its back, exposing its stomach. The spider’s underbelly proves to be far less durable than the rest of its body had been. Damian and Yara, working in tandem, manage to shred through the creature’s innards with their magic, killing the beast. While it lays there dying, as if on cue, you feel the Silence spell waning and your voice returning.
