1. Hotaru told you about these guys because she's been consistently scouting ahead. I didn't specify exactly how far away the bridge was or how much time you had because I don't want to be needlessly autistic about it, but you're more in the ballpark of having 30 minutes than several days. She's not scouting terribly far ahead because she doesn't want to leave you completely unsupervised.
2. These people are aware of what ninjutsu is and are more paranoid about it than usual due to the fact that they know you're coming eventually one way or another. The basis of their organization is that they're anti-ninja rebels, so they're pretty hip to the fact that their enemies might try to use ninja magic against them. If they're assaulted by supernatural effects they're a lot more likely to assume they're being fucked with by a ninja than a curse.
3. Clarification: How exactly are you actually going to manifest these effects? Scrawling someone's personal name in blood might be scary as fuck, but even if you had access to strong genjutsu abilities that's easier said than done. What jutsu are you actually going to try and employ to make these things happen?
Point 1 is your basic time limit, point 2 means that what you do is probably going to be scrutinized more than you assume, and point 3 is just a requirement for me to pull the trigger on writing this for you because I can't write you doing something when I don't understand what mechanism Otomo is meant to use to pull it off.
>>5966897Remember that you have access to the transformation jutsu + clones! Doesn't come up as often as it probably should in the anime/manga, but it's a core requirement to graduate the academy for a reason. Bread and butter.
