"What's an anomaly exactly, and how is dad being a living one so important?" Tamako asks, turning towards the robot and letting her legs dangle off the side of the bed.
"Ah jeez how do I explain it... Like, okay... So an Anomaly is something that attracts stories. Going back to what I said before, an anomaly might be a copy of the real Key of Solomon or the Necronomicon showing up. A place would be the appearance of like... Atlantis or El Dorado."
The changeling's confusion is still clear on her face, so the robot continues.
"And it isn't so much living anomaly as specifically a human one. Humans will, unsurprisingly, think of other humans with the same sort of limitations that they have. That is to say, humans don't generally live long enough to become anomalies. Usually the stories created by them stay within the limits of their existence, and those that don't end up becoming fae themselves."
"People can be fae?" Tamako asks, even more confused.
"Ergh... Your getting a bit into the weeds here. Like I said, you should ask Big Girl or Ayy Lmilf. They could explain it better." The robot says, rubbing her square forehead in frustration. "The story that was created by or from them, not the person themselves. Like a super-short Napoleon, or an Egyptian Cleopatra... I've personally met several George Washingtons with wooden dentures."
"So then how do people become anomalies?"
"They have to actively seek out a way to intertwine themselves with the fae realm. And despite our best efforts, humans seem to keep finding ways to do it."
"So what's so bad about it? Wanting to be an anomaly?"
"Human anomalies usually have selfish reasons to become so. Fairies can offer all sorts of power and riches after all."
"I still don't really get it.. But you guys hunt Anomalies? Are you some sort of secret organization or something?" Tamako says, her heart fluttering slightly.
"Well, secret from humans at least." Hilde says smugly, "Seelie-Human Relations. We don't just hunt anomalies, in fact it's mostly closing portals or finishing stories."
"Cool! Spies!" Tamako says, the excitement in her heart explodingy.
"Well, not exactly. More like-"
"And Kamiko is one right? I got knocked out and kidnapped by a spy! Hey, do you think Kamiko would let me be a spy too?"
"How the heck would I know?" Hilde says laughing, "I would assume not, since you are still a baby."
"I'm not a baby..." Tamako says pouting.
