This strange domain you're in is far too vast to comfortably cover alone. Even if you wanted to find Team Feline, it would take a lot of luck and time.
When you think this, a terrible roar from somewhere splits the air. It is coming from a section of the domain that still has standing towers. You peer into the distance and see one of the spindly stone towers topple, throwing up a massive cloud of dust and debris in the air. You stare hard at the destruction and notice something within that cloud, silhouetted by the sun. It is the shadow of a beast rearing its head and letting out a roar.
Ah, that must be the fake.
Another tower in the distance falls, obscuring the shadow fully. As long as the beast is far away, you're in no danger of being seen. You spend only a few minutes trying to find the Knights but give up as you need to get moving. Your team is located outside the domain with the Dowser, and you need his help to seek hidden things.
Many hands make light work.
With some careful experimentation, you discover that moving the candle within the domain also moves the candle outside. Of course, it isn't smooth sailing while you're doing this. Occasionally, you fall out of the door of the domain and end up hanging midair over the Meguro River while desperately gripping the supernatural flickering candle. You suppose it works in your favor as you learn how to handle the candle without falling out of it like a drunk stumbling through the door.
Yet the first time it had happened, you panicked and flailed above the river like an idiot. You had to summon an ice platform for a foothold and get back into the domain. The only issue is elevating the candle upwards; it is fixed at a certain height relative to the ground.
You end up having to pile up large stones to move the candle upwards. The heavy weight of the grey slabs of rock is easy with your newfound strength. You occasionally poke your head outside to make sure it is moving upwards, and slowly the candle is level with the bridge deck. The idea is so stupidly simple, you didn't think it would work. But as your father always said: if it is stupid but works, it is not stupid.
Time to check on the goats. You exit the domain back onto the bridge and discover your vassals have kept busy too. They've marked up the bridge with Runes drawn in chalk. Yatagarasu and the Dowser look especially frantic as they experiment with certain combinations of Runes. They don't realize that you are standing next to them and looking down at their handiwork. Studying in your spare time and listening to Yatagarasu is paying off; you recognize most of the Runes.
A Little Bit More Knowledge... : You know most of the basic Gate Runes and are able to open pseudo-Gates! They're not big enough to allow you through yet.
"------- alm---- t---e----"
"Pick th---- No---- Tis not---"
You hear the voice of Yatagarasu and the Dowser.
"Meeps, if you can hear me, then you're almost through."
