"Greetings once again, Savant Lord." After you entered the house, Risae greeted you politely for the second time today. "Did you leave anything behind?" Her voice was monotone.
"No, I was just thinking about helping Ayane with her stuff." You gave an excuse to see your slave again.
"Very well. I shall announce to my Master and the others that you've returned." A curtsy, and then she was off.
Before Eisho arrives, Ayane is the first one to come by. "Master?" She said upon seeing you she smiles and gives you a kiss. Eisho, Ai, and Kasato arrive soon after.
"Ah, I see." Kasato already guessed what was going on with a hint of smugness when seeing you two close together. Ai figures it out soon after her, and took Ayane aside to tell her how to deal with soreness in the morning--much to the embarrassment of the elder sister.
"Couldn't wait, could you?" Eisho says to you, still in good humor yet clearly a bit tired. He looks to his first wife. "Ai, you know that relaxing resort Aneko and Shizuku always wanted to go to? Well, we're going there tonight." He cleared his throat. "Kits, ladies, we're going on a field trip!" Eisho declared loudly. He gave you sly smile and then whispered to you. "Try not to cause too much of a mess, will you?"
Were they really leaving just so that you and Ayane could have some privacy? ...You were starting to feel bad.
"... Eisho, you don't need to go out for my sake. I could always just take Ayane to a hotel."
"Oh? You'd have us take her luggage after you so generously offered? Now, that's no way for us to treat a guest." Eisho said with a chuckle.
"Don't misunderstand." Ai began to add. "This isn't us showing you charity. We've been planning for this trip before my daughters and sister went missing, but for reasons you could probably guess, we've had to postpone it." Despite what she said, you felt like you were burning a favor with them. Also didn't that mean Ayane was missing out too? Though from how your fox wife's face longingly gazed at you, you could safely say she didn't mind staying the night with you instead.
Ryko said entered the room with a yawn. "Is this a dream?" She said, looking at you.
Ayane went away to 'mentally prepare herself'. Ai, Kasato, Ryko, and Risae--the last of whom carried a sleeping Shizuku on her back, the young girl in turn was clutching onto a small bag--went to get some last minute things and get themselves ready to leave. In that small time frame Eisho talked to you again.
"It's been a difficult and painful road for her. If you'd like to know ask her yourself, it's not my tale to tell." Said he. "Her patience has payed off."
"I'm sure there's some moral to this story. My first wife was pretty bummed at me coming here."
"You know, I just told you today that pregnant wives are moody and clingy." He sighed. "Oh well, it can't be helped."
"Hey, I said I'd make it up her." You say in your defense. You both speak with a little more lightness after that, at least until the end.
